We’re asking and re-asking this question because it causes the most confusion, so please make sure you answer left/right from your own perspective (rather than someone else looking at you).

Our bikinis are very soft and stretchy with a tie back, so the sizing is flexible. Choose the size bracket that includes your usual bra size. If you think you might be right at the top of a size bracket, we would recommend tending towards the larger size.

Each product is individually made to order. Items typically take up to 6 weeks to make and dispatch.

With soft fabrics in beautiful colours, hidden support for your breast and delicate diagonal backstraps. Our bikinis are crafted from ECONYL®, a regenerated Nylon sourced from ocean plastics, offering eco-friendly swimwear options.

Sizing & design detail

We have spent a huge amount of time developing the patterns to suit women of a huge range of sizes from chest size 32-42, A-G cup.

Our research and testing process showed us that women with larger cups, often had scarring of more variable shapes and positions on the chest. For that reason, larger sizes have a proportionately slightly deeper flat-side band than smaller sizes - see size chart below. The flat band is designed to provide even, super soft compression across scar tissue.

Materials

Our bikini is made from Carvico ECONYL® The fabric is made from a yarn that is spun from 100% regenerated nylon made from pre and post-consumer waste materials including ocean plastics. 8 million tons of waste plastic ends up in the sea every year including 640,000 tons of abandoned fishing nets. Aquafil is the company that makes the yarn and we are excited to support the Healthy Seas initiative by using this product. Healthy Seas collaborates with fishing communities to implement preventative actions against pollution caused by discarded fishing nets, finding new solutions for sustainable disposal both environmentally and economically.

How it works

We are determined that -uno does not become part of a fast-fashion, high waste culture that is so destructive to the planet. We also want to support small scale British manufacturing, cutting down on transport costs and emissions.

For that reason, we have decided to follow a model that many small, designer and boutique brands have tried and tested: Making their products to order in small batches. In that way, we make exactly what you order, with no waste, but we get it at a much lower price point than a bespoke or made to order on demand service.

That means, we will be placing regular manufacturing orders spaced throughout the year and sending out orders in batches – so it may take a little longer to arrive than something you order from a high street shop – but we hope you’ll agree that these principles are worth waiting for! Also this allows us to gauge demand accurately and respond to needs. If you want us to develop bigger sizes/other colours, that’s what we’ll do!
