We’re asking and re-asking this question because it causes the most confusion, so please make sure you answer left/right from your own perspective (rather than someone else looking at you).

This is a completely soft bralette for women with one breast that can be worn straight after surgery. It is a uniquely shaped pattern that retains a straight neckline, with a hidden inner side support sling for the breast and wide, satin underband to avoid tight elastics that dig into scar tissue. There is a 3 hook adjustable fastening at the back.

The really special thing about our products is that the fabrics feel incredible and luxuriously soft, made from modal - an innovative fabric woven from European wood pulp that is durable, breathable and moisture wicking.

Sizing & design detail

We have spent a huge amount of time developing the patterns to suit women with one breast. You will notice when looking at the size chart that as the cup size gets larger, the sizing bracket gets narrower. That is to ensure that we can give the best support to larger breasts. We have resisted going down the route of Small Medium Large sizes because deciding to be openly asymmetric is a big leap of faith to make and having underwear that fits well makes all the difference!

Materials

The crop top is made from Modal that is made from beech tree cellulose that is spun into a yarn. It requires 10-20% less water than the production of cotton. Growing beech trees is a much less agriculturally intensive process than cotton because it doesn’t require irrigation. Beech trees also grow in Europe – so the raw materials are close to home. The trims are made with gorgeous Italian Boselli stretch satin.

-unobra composition:
80% Modal, 15% polyester, 5% elastane

How it works

We are determined that -uno does not become part of a fast-fashion, high waste culture that is so destructive to the planet. We also want to support small scale manufacturing, cutting down on transport costs and emissions.

For that reason, we have decided to follow a model that many small, designer and boutique brands have tried and tested : Making their products to order in small batches. In that way, we make exactly what you order, with no waste, but we get it at a much lower price point than a bespoke or made to order on demand service.

That means, we will be placing regular manufacturing orders spaced throughout the year and sending out orders in batches – so it may take a little longer to arrive than something you order from a high street shop – but we hope you’ll agree that these principles are worth waiting for! Also this allows us to gauge demand accurately and respond to needs. If you want us to develop bigger sizes/other colours, that’s what we’ll do!
